MyFreeTaxes.org is operated by United Ways of California, on behalf of and in partnership with our local United Way members.

MyFreeTaxes.org is a proven, community-trusted program and the central hub for California individuals and families to file taxes for free and claim the benefits of a growing number of tax credits offered at the state and federal level.

At United Ways of California, we believe tax filing should be free, equitable, and simple — and that every California family should have access to adequate resources to lead their best life. As a coordinating statewide association, we help uplift the advocacy and community impact work for California’s 29 local United Ways, and work to educate state and national leaders to effect lasting policy change and improve the health, education, and financial stability of low-income California families.
